…in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself…
– Catechism of the Catholic Church 1324
God is with us
The Sacrament of the Eucharist is the greatest sign of God’s love for us. God chooses to remain with us till the end of time under the appearance of bread and wine, and because of His Presence in this sacrament, we know nothing that can separate us from His love. We need only to seek Him in our churches, in the sacrifice of the Mass.
Using the workbook Celebrate and Remember: Eucharist and the videos below, parents can help their children get ready for this special sacrament, so they can truly grow and encounter Jesus.
Once you have completed all chapters and activities, contact Samantha (samantha@stalphonsus.net) to arrange for your child to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time.
Let’s get started
This process is done at your pace – no rush, no deadlines, no pressure. Simply work through the material at whatever pace works best for you; we recommend no more than 1 chapter a week for best retention of material and not overwhelming your child with too much information. Each chapter, with videos and activities, takes about 30 to 45 minutes to complete, so make sure to carve out solid time to dedicate to completing the chapter. If you encounter any difficulties, don’t hesitate to reach out!
Note that you will need the proper workbook, which is given to you after you receive First Reconciliation. Please complete the First Reconciliation prep before starting prep for First Communion.
